Established in 1992, THEAM Security Limited is proud to be the first Secured by Design (Police preferred Specification) accredited company for the installation of security systems. The key personnel of the company possess over 100 combined years of experience in the lock, double glazing, and security industry. On projects of a sensitive nature, we work closely with the Police and have been approved by the Secured by Design initiative for our installations of approved tested products.

The company was created to address a specific gap in the market: the need for a high-quality security installation company that specialized beyond standard locksmithing services. The vision originated with the co-founder responsible for technical operations, who brought years of deep industry expertise. Starting as a carpenter and progressing to the installation of high-security windows and doors, this individual transitioned into the security sector in 1984, rapidly ascending to the position of Sales Director at a major lock firm within five years. The administrative and financial stability of the business is managed by the co-founder who transitioned into this role after a successful career in banking.
This focus on specialization quickly earned Theam Security significant recognition. The company was the first recipient of the Secured by Design accreditation for the installation of approved products, fostering close relationships with the Police, Secured by Design, and Local Authorities. The company’s deep involvement in midland domestic violence schemes led to the initiation of the West Midlands Domestic Violence Forum, a crucial meeting point for councils, police, and organizations to discuss best practices.
The company’s technical leader is recognized as a leading authority in the field. Since 2011, this individual has been invited to lecture on Security Installation and Surveying for Police and Military Crime Reduction Officer Training Courses at the National Police Training College. This expertise also extends to serving as a security adviser on a document providing minimum guidelines for Domestic Violence protection across the UK, commissioned by the Metropolitan Police and Secured By Design.
